Frequently Asked Questions
I’m not sure which service(s) would suit me best - can you help?
Absolutely! I’m happy to offer a complimentary consultation to discover the best services to suit your needs - simply head over to my contact page to get in touch.
What can I expect from a Consultation?
We can talk through your wedding plans in a little more detail and establish the areas in which you may require assistance in the planning, coordination, or styling of your wedding. Based on our discussions, I will return to you a tailored proposal specifically designed to suit the level of professional assistance you require. Take your time to look over the proposal at your leisure, and I will work with you to address any queries. When you are completely happy, simply return the signed proposal along with the agreed deposit to secure your date, and I will commence the tasks outlined within the timescale identified for that service (or services).
What are your office hours?
Standard office hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday 10am to 2pm (unless working on an event). Consultations and meetings can be arranged outside of these hours by prior appointment.
What areas do you work in?
I predominantly work across Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire, and Gloucestershire, however am happy to travel further afield within the U.K. for an additional fee to cover mileage (please see below).
Is travel included in your fee?
Mileage is included for Full Service Wedding Planning, and built into the quote.
For Wedding Coordination and Styling and Set Up services, travel is included for venues within a 20 mile radius of Bristol. Mileage outside of this applies at 50p per mile (please note that dependant upon distance, accommodation may be required).
How many weddings do you plan per year?
I only take on a limited number of Full Service Wedding Planning clients per year, however this does allow me capacity to take on further bookings on a smaller scale (for example, Wedding Coordination, or Styling and Set Up only). Wherever possible, I commit to only booking one ‘attended’ wedding per weekend, to ensure my complete attention to each couple’s wedding day.
What types of weddings do you cover?
I love any excuse for a good celebration, and therefore cater for religious, civil, and humanist/celebrant-led ceremonies in equal measure!
Many of my weddings are coordinated for couples who have already completed the formal legalities of their marriage (whether in the U.K. or abroad), and want total flexibility on making their ‘official’ wedding celebration uniquely personal, and unrestricted by the requirement to declare their vows in licensed premises. This has led to me planning weddings in a wide range of venues, including castles, barns, stately homes, country clubs, private residences, marquees and gardens.
I warmly welcome enquiries from couples of all backgrounds and cultures, including LGBTQ+ couples, those with disabilities (hidden or otherwise), interfaith couples and couples with mixed race heritage.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely! I am happy to offer the following payment arrangements:
For Full Service Wedding Planning, I offer the facility for any payment due to be made over 3 instalments (35% payable upon signing of the proposal, 30% at the midpoint between signing the contract and the date of the wedding, and the remaining 35% due one month before the wedding itself).
For all other services, a 35% deposit is required upon signing the proposal, with the remainder payable one month prior to the wedding date.
Do you take a commission from suppliers you recommend?
As a member of the Best Practice Association of Wedding Planning & Event Management, I follow the protocol of never taking commissions from suppliers - thus ensuring complete impartiality, and the reassurance that any suppliers I recommended are referred solely based upon their unique skills and talents, and suitability to your individual wedding.
Can you obtain discounts from suppliers on our behalf?
In short, I never directly ask any supplier for a discount. My recommendations will always be based upon whom I feel genuinely represents the best value for money within the parameters of your budget for that category of supplier - to request a discount can construe a lack of respect for that supplier’s work, and devaluation of the service they offer.
Some suppliers may offer a discount to be passed on, and in that circumstance any discount will be fully disclosed prior to booking, and clearly listed on the quotation provided to you by that supplier.
What about insurance?
I hold Public Liability Insurance providing cover for our company for up to £5 million (which may be extended for large scale weddings and events where additional cover is required by the venue, or where it is deemed necessary owing to the nature of the wedding).
Please note that this doesn't negate the need for your own wedding insurance to cover you in the event of unforeseen personal circumstances (for example accident, illness or bereavement), and does not indemnify any other contracted suppliers.
We’d like to Keep our Wedding day low-key - Can you assist with this?
Absolutely! Whilst we’d love to shout about all the weddings we have assisted on from the rooftops, we totally understand the potential requirement for discretion.
If you would prefer to keep your wedding out of the spotlight of social media or our website, we simply ask that you notify us by email in advance. We also abide to adhering to any press exclusivity clauses where applicable. We are more than happy to arrange event security on your behalf where required, and can discuss pricing for this accordingly.
I'd like to know more...what next?
Great, I'd love to hear from you and discuss your ideas! In the first instance, please drop me a line via the contact form, and I’ll be in touch to confirm my availability and next steps.
